It also puts Google’s Gemini, Anthropic’s Claude and Microsoft’s Copilot beside it, with their Irish prices, because for most businesses the question isn’t “is ChatGPT worth it” but “which one, and for whom”. Every price was read from the vendor’s own page on 20 September 2026; they change often, so check the page before you pay.

Two things to know about those figures. OpenAI’s help centre still quotes Plus at “$20/month”, so the euro price on the Irish page is what you’ll be charged, not a straight conversion. And OpenAI’s billing help says a business can add its Tax ID and VAT number to its account; if your business is VAT registered, do that before the first invoice.
Is ChatGPT free in Ireland?
Yes. The Free plan is available in Ireland, on the web and in the apps, with “unlimited text chats subject to abuse guardrails” and limited uploads, images and voice. You need an account. For a lot of small businesses the free plan is enough: drafting emails, rewriting a service page, summarising a supplier contract, working out a formula in a spreadsheet.
Where Free runs out is volume and depth. The message limits with files and images arrive quickly on a busy day, and the deeper reasoning models are on Plus and above.
Is ChatGPT Go available in Ireland?
Yes. OpenAI’s help centre says “ChatGPT Go is now available in all ChatGPT supported countries”, and Ireland is on its supported list. Go launched in India in August 2025 and spread worldwide after that. At €8 a month it’s the plan for a sole trader who has hit the free limits but doesn’t need the top models. An owner who lives in it: Plus. The reasoning models are the difference between a decent draft and a right answer on anything involving numbers, law or planning. €23 a month is less than an hour of most people’s time.
A team of two or more sharing work: Business. Not for the features first, but for the data terms below, and because a seat can be moved when someone leaves.
Pro is for people running long automated tasks and heavy coding all day. Most Irish businesses will never need it.
What OpenAI does with your data on each plan
This is the part that should decide the business-versus-personal question. OpenAI’s help centre: “For ChatGPT Plus, Pro and Free plan users on a personal workspace, data sharing is enabled by default”, which means your conversations can be used to improve the models unless you turn the setting off. And: “For ChatGPT Business, Enterprise, and Edu customers, data is not used to train models by default.”
So if staff are pasting customer emails, price lists or contracts into a personal Plus account, either switch off “Improve the model for everyone” in the settings on every account, or move to Business seats. OpenAI has offered European data residency, storage “at rest in Europe”, to Enterprise customers since 2025.

A few notes on reading that table. Google’s Workspace prices “do not include tax” and its introductory discounts (half price for three months on the smaller plans) come and go. Microsoft’s prices are yearly commitments. Claude bills in dollars, so your bank sets the euro figure. And Ireland is on Anthropic’s supported-countries list for both Claude and its API.
Which one is best for an Irish business?
If your business runs on Google Workspace, you already have Gemini in Gmail and Docs on every plan; the Business Standard tier at €13.60 gives it across Docs, Meet and more. Paying separately for ChatGPT Plus on top makes sense only for the owner who wants the stronger reasoning models.
If your business runs on Microsoft 365, Copilot Chat is already there with a work account, and Copilot Business from €15.60 a user puts it inside Word, Excel and Teams with your files. Its privacy statement is the plainest of the four: “prompts, responses, and data accessed through Microsoft Graph aren’t used to train foundation LLMs”, and EU users’ traffic “stays within the EU Data Boundary”.
If you write for a living (copy, proposals, reports), Claude Pro at $20 is the one many writers prefer, and its Team plan has “no model training on your content by default”.
If you want one tool that does most things well, ChatGPT Plus at €23 is still the default choice, with Business seats once more than one person is using it.
