These free marketing tools answer the questions that come up every week in a small business. What did the ads really return? What should the next month’s budget be? What will a new website cost? Every calculator shows its working, so you can check the sum and trust the answer. No sign-up, no email needed to see a result.
A calculator only tells you what the numbers mean. You still need the numbers. So below the calculators is the free software we use to get them, for our own business and for our clients’.
The best free marketing tools for a small business
Most of what a small business needs to measure its marketing is free. Much of it comes from Google, because Google wants you to advertise. Here’s what we set up first for every client, and why.
| Free tool | What it’s for | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Google Search Console | The searches you appear for, your clicks and your position | The only place Google tells you what people typed to find you |
| Google Analytics | Visitors, where they came from and what they did | Shows which channel brings enquiries, not just traffic |
| Google Business Profile | Your listing on Google Maps and in local results | Where local customers often see you before they see your website |
| Google Keyword Planner | Search volumes and click prices, inside a Google Ads account | Tells you what a search is worth before you spend on it |
| Google Trends | How interest in a search rises and falls over time | Plan campaigns around the season, not after it |
| PageSpeed Insights | How fast your pages load on phones and computers | Slow pages lose visitors before they read a word |
| Microsoft Clarity | Heatmaps and recordings of real visits | Watch where people get stuck on your site |
| Bing Webmaster Tools | Search Console’s equivalent for Bing | A second view of your search presence, set up in minutes |
| Looker Studio | Dashboards built from Analytics, Search Console and Ads | One page with the numbers that matter, updated for you |
| Meta Business Suite | Scheduling and messages for Facebook and Instagram | Plan a month of posts in one sitting |
Start with the first three. Search Console, Analytics and your Business Profile cost nothing, and between them they tell you how people find you and whether they get in touch. Everything else builds on them.
Free marketing tools for ads and budgets
Ad platforms report plenty of numbers. They don’t always report the ones that matter to you. They’ll show a return on ad spend, but not whether it covers your margin. They’ll show a click price, but not what a customer cost you.
That’s the gap our ROAS calculator, CPM calculator and CTR calculator fill. And before you spend anything, the Google Ads budget calculator works back from the enquiries you want to the budget that buys them.
Free tools for pricing and margins
Price decides profit more than any campaign does. The margin calculator and markup calculator keep the two apart, because mixing them up is a common and costly pricing mistake. Both handle Irish and UK VAT.
Free website tools
Planning a new site? The website cost calculator prices it line by line from what Irish and UK designers publish, then emails you a brief to send for quotes. Building one? The px to rem converter, aspect ratio calculator and screen resolution checker handle the everyday sums.
Free social media image size tools
Every platform wants a different shape, and half the size guides online are out of date. Ours come from each platform’s own help pages. Pick a size, add your picture, and the cropper makes the file in your browser without uploading it anywhere.
Start with every social media image size on one page, or go straight to the Instagram post size, Facebook cover photo size, LinkedIn banner size or YouTube thumbnail size.
What free marketing tools can’t do
Tell you what to do next. A tool shows that your click-through rate is low, or that your ads are losing money at your margin. It won’t write the better ad or fix the landing page.
That part is judgement, and it’s our day job. If the numbers point at a problem you’d rather hand over, tell us what you’re seeing.
Questions people ask.
Are these marketing tools really free?
Yes. No sign-up, no trial and no email needed to see an answer. The website cost calculator offers to email you the full estimate and a brief if you want them; everything else stays in your browser.
What are the best free marketing tools for a small business?
Google Search Console, Google Analytics and Google Business Profile, set up properly. Between them they show how people find you, what they do on your site and how you look on Google Maps, and all three are free. Add calculators like these when you need to turn the numbers into a decision.
Where do the benchmarks and prices come from?
Named, published sources, cited on each page. The advertising averages are the benchmarks LocaliQ and WordStream publish, from US accounts. The website prices are what 23 Irish and 28 UK web designers and agencies publish on their own sites, checked in September 2026. The image sizes come from each platform's own help pages.
Do the calculators work in sterling and dollars?
Yes. Every calculator opens in euro. Pick sterling or US dollars and every money figure on it converts at the European Central Bank's reference rate, and the calculator remembers your choice. The website cost calculator works in euro or sterling, because it uses Irish and UK prices rather than converted ones.
Can I save or share a result?
Yes. Copy the result as text, copy a link that reopens the same figures, or keep results in your browser to compare side by side. Nothing is sent to us unless you ask for an emailed estimate.
