Keyword Planner data for Tipperary through DataForSEO, an average month across the twelve months ending August 2026.

Tipperary is not one market. It is nine towns, and the business that wins Clonmel is rarely the one that wins Nenagh.

You already know who comes up when somebody in your town searches for your trade. Half the time it is not a Tipperary business at all, it is an operation two counties away with a page built for every county in Ireland and a listing that answers everything Google asks. The other half it is the crowd up the road who got around to finishing their profile.

That is a thin defence and it comes apart quickly. A business that takes its own town, and then the next town over, gets there faster here than anywhere with a city in it. We do that work, and each month you are told what it brought in, counted in calls and forms.

  1. Why the name above you is often not even from Tipperary

A county with no city behaves differently, and this is the clearest case of it in the country. Clonmel is an hour and a half from Roscrea. Nenagh looks up the lake, Carrick-on-Suir looks east, Thurles minds the middle. Nobody searches across a county that size when they want a job done this week. They search for their own town, and whoever answered that search takes the work.

Which is why the businesses picking up your calls are often not from here. Where no local firm has done the work, Google falls back on whoever has, and that is usually a national outfit with a page per county and a listing filled in properly. The county term goes to them, and the town searches go to whoever bothered to claim them.

The four things Google checks are the same in every county. What it is you do, where you are standing, whether the door is open now, and whether anyone has chosen you recently and said so where it can be read. Most businesses here manage two of the four. The profile was filled in once and never opened again, the website puts eight services on a single page, the reviews stopped a long time back, and the only place named anywhere on the site is the county itself.

Town by town, the field is close to empty. There are trades in Nenagh and Thurles where not one business has finished this, which means the first one that does gets the phone for years. The county term is the harder fight, because the names holding it are competing nationally, and it is worth less to you than owning the town you trade in.

  2. How a Tipperary business gets to the top of its own town

The thing you are paying for looks like this. Somebody in Clonmel or Cashel wants what you do, and you are the business they meet, on the map with a number to press, ahead of everything in the results underneath, and one of the names inside the answer Google writes above it. Then somebody rings you, and the month’s report tells you which search sent them.

Four jobs, done fully rather than nearly. The Google Business Profile completed, right category, every service on it, photographs from this year, hours that are correct on a Saturday, and a service area drawn around the towns you genuinely cover. A page for each service, so that somebody searching for that one job in your town arrives on a page about that job in that town. Reviews asked for every time a job closes well, and answered when they land. And the same details wherever the business is written down, in Golden Pages, in your trade’s own registers, at County Tipperary Chamber, and on whatever Local Enterprise Office Tipperary is holding.

Then the town pages, which count for more here than anywhere. One for Clonmel, one for Nenagh, one for Thurles, one for Carrick-on-Suir, each carrying something true about working in that place rather than the same paragraph with the name swapped out. That is the difference between ranking in one town and ranking in six.

Underneath all that, the site is made to load fast on a phone, tagged so Google can place the business exactly, and filled with what a buyer here wants settled before they ring. What the job comes to, how far out you go, how long you need, and who lands at the door.

  3. What we put in writing before you spend a euro

The prices are published, band by band, with what each one includes. You can work out tonight what covering Clonmel or Nenagh would cost you, without ringing anybody and without a call designed to find out your ceiling.

The report every month counts enquiries and the searches behind them rather than positions. A position on a screen has never paid for a van, and in a county where one job can be worth a quarter of the year, the only number that matters is how many of them came through the door.

The reviews carry names. Each one is a Google review left by a business that agreed to be named, and it can be read where it sits rather than in a slide we made.

The agency has been running since 2013, and the one who draws up your plan is the one doing the work in it. Nothing gets passed to an account handler who has to go and ask what happened last month.

Meetings in Tipperary happen on Liberty Square in Clonmel. Head office is in County Louth, though none of that changes whose hands are on your campaign.

  4. Why the AI answer is only another Tipperary search result

Ask Google for a solicitor in Thurles or a wedding venue near Cashel and it writes you an answer before the results begin, and it names businesses in that answer. Try the same question on ChatGPT and you get names back there as well. This is not a new kind of search. It is the old one wearing a different face. What gets read is the same, a listing that is filled in, reviews dated recently, and pages written in language anybody could follow.

Nothing separate needs buying, and no such line sits on the price list here. An AI answer is a search result, nothing more, and the work that wins one wins the other. What it does is raise the cost of vague writing, because a machine quoting your page uses exactly what is on it. Put the price, the towns, the hours and the plain answers into sentences that can be lifted whole.

In a county of small searches this counts for more than it sounds. Where only two or three real options exist for a trade in a town, being one of the names an answer reads out is the whole game. It is inside every campaign we run here and there is no separate charge for it.

  5. How a Tipperary campaign starts and what it owes you

Fill the form in or ring the number. A working day later you get what your trade is searched for across the county and in your own town, where you stand on each of those searches, and who is standing above you. No charge and no obligation attached to it.

If it goes ahead, a fortnight on the audit. What you already rank for, what is slow or broken, which records carry old details, and the gap between what the names ahead of you have done and what you have.

The month after that is foundations. The listing finished off and verified, the categories and the service area fixed, wrong records cleaned up, a review routine agreed with whoever closes the jobs, and tracking that stamps every enquiry with the page and the search it came from. Then the pages themselves, starting where the money is rather than where it suits anybody.

Twelve weeks on you should be in the map around your own town, with the service and town pages settling in behind, and the report counting enquiries town by town. Here the town searches move first and the bare county term comes last. If a quarter passes and nothing has changed, that gets written down as it is and the plan is rebuilt.

  6. Who in Tipperary this actually earns for

What the county searches for says it is a different kind of place to the tourist counties. Hotels lead on 1,900 a month and wedding venues follow on 880, then massage on 590 and restaurants on 390. Beneath those sit solar panels on 210, solicitors and windows and doors on 170 each, and car sales, estate agents and skip hire on 140 apiece.

The small numbers are the valuable ones. 210 searches a month for solar panels is not a small market when you price a single installation, and the same goes for 170 looking for a solicitor or 140 looking to buy a car. One of those enquiries can be worth a season of the volume trades, and the business that answers it first usually keeps it.

Wedding venues at 880 a month deserve saying out loud. That search starts eighteen months ahead and gets made by somebody comparing four places on a phone at eleven at night. Photographs from real days, prices they do not have to ring for, and a page for each part of the offering settle that shortlist long before anybody visits.

The home improvement trades, the windows, the solar, the skips, are decided by a person standing in their own driveway with a problem in front of them. They search the job and the town. If your page says Tipperary and somebody else’s page says Nenagh, theirs wins, and that is the entire difference between the two of you.

Hotels and restaurants here are not up against a tourist county’s numbers, so the map is well within reach. A finished listing, reviews that keep coming and hours that are right over a bank holiday weekend will carry most towns on their own.

It is not for everybody. If the money has to land inside the week, then it is Google Ads you want, and we will say it out loud. Where the budget is two hundred a month, it belongs in your own listing rather than in a retainer. For the rest of the county, being the answer in your own town is well within reach and it holds.

  7. Meeting you in Tipperary

    Office

Liberty Square, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary, Ireland

    (083) 0650164

What this costs in Tipperary, band by band.

The figures are here so you can decide before you dial. Tipperary prices near the bottom of the bands, because nothing in the county is contested the way a city is. The one thing that lifts it is spread. A business covering Clonmel, Nenagh, Thurles and Roscrea properly is running four local campaigns rather than one, and that belongs in the middle band.

  • Your own town first €800 to €1,500 a month

One business going after the trade in a single Tipperary town and the roads that feed it.

    • A profile filled in completely and watched after
    • Its own page for each service you sell
    • Old records corrected wherever your name appears
    • Reviews asked for every time a job closes
    • A monthly report counting enquiries by search
  • Four towns at once €1,500 to €3,500 a month

A business that covers several towns, or a trade where one enquiry is worth months of work.

    • The whole of the first band
    • A real page for every town you serve
    • Answers written for buyers who take months to decide
    • Links earned in Tipperary and in your industry
    • Enquiries reported by town and by service
  • Tipperary selling nationwide From €3,000 a month

A Tipperary business selling into the whole country, online or through the trade.

    • Continuous publishing rather than a fixed set of pages
    • Technical work over a site with real size to it
    • Coverage and links worth the name
    • Reporting set against what the business turns over

Beneath roughly €400 a month you are funding upkeep, and upkeep does not move anything. The hours, pages and links behind each figure are itemised in how much SEO costs in Ireland. Should it not add up for a business this year, we would rather say that at the start than take twelve months of fees.

Tipperary owners usually ask these first.

What does this run to for a Tipperary business?

Going after one town, Clonmel or Nenagh or wherever you trade from, runs to €800 to €1,500 a month and covers the profile, a page per service, the records corrected, the reviews and a monthly report. Several towns at once means €1,500 to €3,500 a month, since that is four local campaigns and not one. Tipperary comes in near the bottom of both bands, as there is less in your way here than in a city.

How long before it shows up in enquiries?

The map around your own premises usually moves inside three or four months, once the listing is done properly and reviews are landing again. Town and service pages settle between four and six months. The bare county term is the slowest and the least valuable of the lot, so it gets worked on last. If nothing has moved after a quarter, you are told plainly and the approach changes.

We are in Roscrea, which is a long way from anywhere. Does that hurt us?

Not for the searches that matter to you. Google answers with what is nearest the person asking, so a Roscrea business that states its own ground and the distance it covers can take Roscrea and the country around it without ever competing with Clonmel. North Tipperary is quiet enough that this happens quickly. The county term is a separate job for later.

Should we be spending that on Google Ads instead?

Ads deliver while the card is being charged and stop when it is not. This keeps producing after the invoices finish. For the high value trades here, solar, windows, legal work, a small permanent ad budget on the best two or three terms alongside the search work is often the sensible arrangement. If you need the phone going this week, ads are the truthful answer.

Is the map pack in our town within reach?

In most Tipperary towns that is the most achievable win on the board, because the review counts you are up against are small. What it needs is a complete listing, reviews arriving regularly, details that agree in every place they are published, and a site that backs them up. Nobody is able to promise a place in those three, and an agency that puts such a promise in writing is telling you something about itself.

Do you work in Tipperary or just advertise here?

We meet clients on Liberty Square in Clonmel, and we work with businesses from Nenagh and Roscrea down to Carrick-on-Suir and Cahir. The head office is in County Louth. Wherever the meeting happens, the campaign stays with whoever built it.
