How Much Does Google Ads Cost in Ireland? (2026)

Irish click prices run from 58 cent for a hairdresser to €9.82 for solar panels. The click price is not the number that decides whether it works. What a lead costs you and what a sale is worth, by trade.

Google Ads pricing in 2026 varies with the trade, the campaign type and the budget. Typical Irish click prices run from about 58 cent for a hairdresser to €9.82 for solar panels, across the eight trades in the table further down.

The model is pay-per-click: you are charged when somebody clicks, not when your ad is shown.

However, campaigns using Google Display Network (GDN) with CPM (cost per thousand impressions) bidding also incur impression-based costs, which are priced per 1,000 impressions.

How much does Google Ads cost in Ireland in 2026?

Google Ads pricing in 2026 can vary quite a bit based on factors like your campaign type, ad placement, level of competition, and more. Click prices depend on the trade, as the table further down shows, and so does the budget a campaign needs.

Cost-per-click ranges

The cost-per-click you end up paying depends heavily on the quality of your ads and keywords. Google rewards well-optimised, high-quality scores with lower CPCs. The higher your ad and keyword scores, the lower your CPC is likely to be.

Cost-per-thousand impressions

For display ads running through the Google Display Network (GDN), costs are measured by CPM or cost-per-thousand impressions. CPM is the price of 1,000 impressions, and it moves with how many advertisers want the same audience.

Monthly budget factors

In terms of overall monthly ad spend, budgets can range dramatically based on the size of your business, your industry, the scale of your campaigns, competition, and other factors.

Additional cost considerations

Ask any agency how its fees work before you sign, including whether it charges a flat fee or a share of spend.

Cost influences to watch

Costs can rise as more advertisers bid for the same searches and as Google adds formats and placements to bid on. Careful optimisation and good analytics help keep them under control.

What a click costs in Ireland, by industry

There is no single price. What you pay per click depends on what you sell, because the auction is only as expensive as the other people bidding in it. The table shows the middle click price for eight trades in Ireland, with the range across the middle half of counties.

Trade Middle click price Middle half of counties Counties counted
Hairdresser €0.58 €0.41 to €0.73 15
Plumber €1.79 €1.14 to €2.47 26
Dentist €2.10 €1.03 to €3.05 17
Roofer €2.75 €2.21 to €4.66 17
Solicitor €3.21 €2.47 to €4.37 20
Financial adviser €9.16 €7.43 to €11.27 17
Mortgage broker €9.49 €7.81 to €11.59 16
Solar panels €9.82 €7.86 to €11.44 26

Click prices are Google Keyword Planner’s prices for Irish searches, converted from US dollars at 1.146 dollars to the euro. For each trade, the middle price is the median across the counties where Keyword Planner shows at least 30 searches a month (15 to 26 of them), rounded half-up to the cent. The range is the middle half of those counties.

Prices vary by county, so your own county may cost more or less than the middle price.

Our Google Ads budget calculator turns the leads you need into a daily budget.

What a lead costs, which matters more than the click price

Cost per click is the number everyone quotes. Cost per lead is the one that decides whether the account is working. Divide what you spent by the number of qualified enquiries it produced and you have it. Google’s Local Services Ads skip the click and charge per lead, which is why some trades run both.

Worked through, with the plumber’s middle price of €1.79 a click, a €500 budget buys about 280 clicks.

If, say, five in every hundred of those people enquire, that is about 14 enquiries, and each one costs about €36. Change any one of those numbers and the answer moves, which is why the conversion rate on your landing page is worth as much attention as the bid.

You can work out a starting figure for your trade the same way. Take the middle click price from the table above and divide it by the share of visitors who enquire. Replace that share with your own conversion rate as soon as the account has figures of its own.

How Google actually spends a daily budget

The number you set is an average daily budget, not a cap. Google can spend up to twice it on a busy day and make the difference back on a quiet one. What it will not do is bill you more than about 30.4 times your daily average in a month, so the monthly ceiling is predictable even when individual days are not.

  • €15 a day is about €456 a month at most
  • €30 a day is about €912
  • €50 a day is about €1,520
  • €100 a day is about €3,040

Our Google Ads budget calculator works it the other way round: tell it how many leads you need and it gives you the daily number to start from.

What moves the price in Ireland

  • Where you target. Prices differ by county, so the same trade can cost more in one area than in another.
  • What the search means. “Emergency plumber Dublin” is worth more to more advertisers than “how to fix a leaking tap”, and the auction prices it accordingly.
  • Who else is bidding. Legal, insurance, mortgages and emergency call-outs attract advertisers with deep pockets and high order values.
  • Quality Score. Google weighs expected click-through rate, ad relevance and landing page experience. A better-matched ad pays less for the same position.
  • Campaign type. Search, Shopping, Performance Max, Display and YouTube price and convert differently and should never be judged against one another.
  • Time and device. Evening searches, mobile traffic and seasonal demand all move the auction.
  • Conversion tracking. Get this wrong and a profitable account can look like a failure, or worse, automated bidding spends the budget optimising towards the wrong action.

What an agency costs on top

Management is charged separately from the ad spend and the fee goes to the agency, not to Google. Bubblehub’s Google Ads management starts at €450 a month plus VAT.

Some agencies charge a flat fee, some take a percentage of spend, and some do a bit of both. A percentage model is worth reading twice: it pays the agency more when you spend more, which is not always the same thing as it working better for you.

If you already pay for management and can’t see what it buys, a Google Ads audit will show you. Ours runs more than 150 checks and costs €295 plus VAT, credited against management if you hire us.

A sensible first structure for a local Irish business looks like this: a modest monthly ad budget, one service category, one county or defined service area, a Search campaign built on exact and phrase intent keywords, conversion tracking on calls, forms and WhatsApp, negative keywords managed weekly, and brand and non-brand kept in separate campaigns so you can see what each is really doing.

And do not judge any of it on cost per click. Count qualified leads, booked jobs, sales value, cost per acquisition and return on ad spend. A €10 click that brings in a €1,000 customer is cheap. A €1 click that brings in nothing is not.

Paid search is the fast lane, and it stops the day the budget does. For the slower lane that compounds, our guide to how much SEO costs in Ireland covers the slower option.

Click prices change with the county as well as the trade, and the gap between a cheap trade and a dear one is different in every county. Each page below sets the click price for the trades in that county beside our fee, so you can do the sums before you speak to anybody.

How much impact does the industry have on the cost of Google Ads?

The cost of Google Ads is heavily influenced by the level of competition in the industry a business operates. Google Ads uses an auction-based pricing model, where advertisers bid against each other for ad placement. In industries with high competition, demand for prime ad spots is greater, driving up the bid prices.

Businesses in crowded industries like insurance, law, and finance should expect to pay more per click or impression than businesses in less contested industries. The competition in an industry directly impacts how much advertisers must spend to get their ads in front of interested searchers.

What factors determine Google Ads pricing?

Several things decide what Google Ads costs, and each one is worth knowing before you set a budget:

  • Keywords: The competition and demand for specific keywords significantly impact costs.

How do Google budgets work?

When you start running your ads on Google, you will come across several terms related to Google Ads costs, including:

Budget

Budget refers to the amount of money that you’re willing or able to spend, set per day over an average month of 30.4 days.

Top tip

Although you may set your daily budget to a predetermined amount, Google may choose to spend more than that figure one day and less another depending on traffic trends, when you set a daily budget you in reality set a monthly budget of 30.4 times that figure. Google may spend more than your daily budget in a day, but will never spend more than the overall monthly budget.

Bid

Bid refers to the amount you are willing to spend for a click on your ad.

Spend

The amount Google deducts from your budget when an ad wins an ad auction.

Cost

The actual amount you pay for a click on your ad.

Daily average budgets

Your daily average budget is the average daily amount per ad campaign you’re willing to spend over 30.4 days (the average number of days in a month).

When you set up your campaign in Google Ads, you’ll be asked to provide your daily average budget. You can choose to share this budget across all of your campaigns or set a separate budget for each campaign.

Your daily average budget gives Google a rough idea of what you’d like your daily spend to average out at the end of the month. That means you could exceed or fall short this amount.

Spending limits

There are two types of spending limits, the daily spending limit and the monthly spending limit.

The daily spending limit is the maximum amount you will pay for an ad campaign daily. And the monthly spending limit is the maximum amount you will pay for an ad campaign each month.

You will never pay more than your spending limit.

Bidding

The pricing of Google Ads will also depend on your bid. Your bid is the maximum amount you’re willing to pay for a click on your ad.

You’ll want to make sure your bid is high enough to compete with other bidders to earn those higher positions in the search results.

You can choose to bid manually and set different bid amounts for each keyword in your ad group or set up automated bidding where you can set maximum bid limits.
